Dacia is developing a new small electric city car on the same platform as the Renault Twingo EV, with a target launch in 2026. Priced around €18,000, the model aims to enhance upon the successful Spring, which sold 140,000 units from 2021 to 2024. Unlike the Spring, which is manufactured in China, Dacia's new EV will be produced in Europe, avoiding import tariffs. The design will increase in size and technology while targeting traditional hatchback and potential crossover markets through a possible Stepway variant. CEO Denis Le Vot emphasizes their expedited 16-month development timeline to achieve these goals.
The new Dacia EV is set to debut in 2026 with a price of around €18,000, building on the success of the Spring model.
