Amazon.ie launches in Ireland with price cut for Prime subscribers
Briefly

Amazon has reduced the price for Irish Prime subscribers from €11 to €7, enhancing its offerings by switching to an Irish domain and eliminating customs fees. The transition follows the opening of a Fulfilment Centre in Dublin, enabling quicker deliveries and a greater selection of products. The service aims to improve efficiency through partnership with An Post, also providing refunds to existing customers. Amazon anticipates significant growth in product availability and sales in Ireland, marking a significant step in their local operations.
The cost of Prime for Irish subscribers has been cut to €6.99 per month compared to £8.99 (€11) under the old system. Current customers will receive a refund.
At the time of writing, the company had not updated its app, with only the web browser version showing amazon.ie and euro pricing.
