Wind gusts may reach 35 mph, with up to 75 mph along the Sierra crest, and wave heights of 1 to 3 feet on Lake Tahoe. Travel could be very difficult and may impact Tuesday and Wednesday commutes. Gusty winds can bring down tree branches and create power line hazards. Small boats, kayaks, and paddle boards should remain off lake waters. Drivers should slow down, carry emergency supplies such as a flashlight, food, and water, call 511 for road conditions, and dial 911 for downed power lines.
