Kane surprised by Tuchels England appointment - Soccer News
Briefly

Harry Kane admitted he was surprised by Thomas Tuchel's appointment as the new England manager but is eager to work with him again. Tuchel, who previously managed Kane at Bayern Munich, signed an 18-month contract to guide the national team through the 2026 World Cup. Despite it being an unexpected transition, Kane emphasized his excitement about Tuchel's capabilities and how he can elevate the team's performance. With positive initial impressions after a few days together, Kane looks forward to the development that Tuchel could bring as they build towards significant tournaments.
I was surprised if I'm honest. Yeah, I didn't expect it. I guess I just wasn't really thinking of him as a national team coach.
But yeah, once it was announced, I was really excited because, obviously, I had the pleasure of working with him last year and I know what he can bring.
And obviously we've only been together a few days, but it hasn't disappointed. He's bringing us up to what I thought he would.
Tuchel did get the best out of me last season; there's no real rules to how I play - he sees me as the number nine.
