The Friedkin Group is in advanced discussions to take over Everton, resuming negotiations with majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri after previous talks fell through in July.
Chairman Dan Friedkin, who owns Serie A side Roma, previously agreed a deal in principle in June to purchase Moshiri's 94% stake, but the agreement was not finalized.
A complex saga has unfolded regarding this takeover, which included John Textor being granted a period of exclusivity in August following the failed deal from 777 Partners.
Sources suggest a deal with the Friedkin Group is now "close," although Everton, Moshiri and the Friedkin Group declined to comment.
