A shooting incident at a school in Orebro, part of the city's adult education division (Komvux), left at least five injured, prompting police warnings for public safety. The situation involved evacuations and lockdowns with reports of gunfire heard shortly after 2 PM. While police have confirmed the injury of five individuals, including the suspected shooter, some unverified reports indicate potential fatalities and further injuries. Authorities reassured the public that there was no ongoing threat, urging people to avoid the vicinity to facilitate emergency operations.
"I don't know everything. It's unclear. I'm still at the school. I've heard bangs, there has probably been a shooting," he said just after 2pm.
Lena Warenmark, a teacher speaking to public broadcaster SVT, said that she had heard "around ten bangs". She added that there were unusually few students on-site, as they had gone home after a national test earlier in the day.
The healthcare director in Orebro told a press conference that five people had been taken to hospital. Four people had been operated on and two people were described as stable.
According to unconfirmed reports by public broadcaster SVT, several people are dead and around 15 injured.
