A 47-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a threat made against Penngrove Elementary School, leading to an evacuation and school closure.
Esmeralda Mondragon, acting superintendent, stated that the threat was made by an adult toward Penngrove Elementary, prompting the district to close both Penngrove and Kenilworth Junior High.
Kevin Harrington, the suspect, was arrested in Douglas County, Nevada, with the assistance of local law enforcement, and faces charges including felony criminal threats.
The nature of the threat remains unclear, as does Harrington's connection to the school, but it resulted in substantial disruptions for students and parents.
