UC Berkeley officials have issued a WarnMe alert advising individuals to steer clear of the area surrounding Berkeley Way and Shattuck Avenue following a shooting.
In response to the shooting incident downtown on October 24, 2024, police and emergency personnel were dispatched promptly to assess and manage the situation.
Janet Gilmore, a spokesperson for UC Berkeley, emphasized the ongoing nature of the investigation by stating, 'It's a BPD matter,' signifying that the Berkeley Police Department is leading the case.
