The cold case murder of 32-year-old Maria Weidhofer, found strangled in Tilden Regional Park in 1990, has been solved as authorities identified Jon Lipari as the prime suspect using DNA evidence. Lipari, who died by suicide in 2024, had not been previously linked to Weidhofer. Investigators revealed that there was no prior contact between them, leading to questions about how Lipari became a suspect. Despite the tragic outcome, Park officials maintain gratitude for the long pursuit of justice and support from regional partners over the years.
