Two men, Kelvin Davis and Keyjuanne McGhee, were arrested in connection with a shooting and robbery in Oakland's Montclair area on April 2 that led to a hospitalization. Both face multiple felony charges including robbery and firearms offenses, and Davis, identified as the shooter, could face up to 40 years to life in prison due to a prior offense. Police linked one of the suspects to a previous homicide case, intensifying the seriousness of their criminal activity. A youth associated with the incident was also arrested on the same day.
This was a very terrible case. The victim is still in the hospital and healing and hopefully will be released from the hospital today.
Davis is charged with robbery, assault with a firearm causing great bodily injury, possession of a machine gun, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Davis was on probation for a prior offense and, if convicted, he faces up to 40 years to life in prison.
Officers learned that one of the suspects arrested in the Cortereal Avenue robbery was also wanted in connection with the March homicide of William Robinson.
