Hush puppies, once removed from Red Lobster's menu, are making a comeback as part of a revitalized menu that includes nine new items and aims to attract both old and new customers.
CEO Damola Adamolekun stated, "There was a social media riot over us taking off the hush puppies a few years ago. I expect a stampede into our restaurants because we're bringing back the hush puppies."
Red Lobster aims to modernize its appeal, stressing the need to balance retaining its existing customer base with drawing in younger diners who may have fond childhood memories of the chain.
Under new ownership, Red Lobster has committed $60 million to a major overhaul, including a new menu and updated restaurant ambiance to rejuvenate its brand and experience.
