Rain and bigger ocean waves are on tap for Bay Area; only the waves will make a lengthy stay
Briefly

The biggest story, NWS meteorologist Nicole Sarment said, is what's going to happen at the beach. A long period westerly to northwesterly swell will affect the surf along the entire Northern California coast, expected to last into early next week.
Under a beach hazard warning, travelers are urged to be cautious and think twice before swimming. A high-surf advisory advises people to stay away from the beach altogether.
After light rain on Friday and an overcast Saturday, dry weather will follow. High temperatures will reach the lower 60s in South Bay and high 50s in East Bay.
The rain on Friday is not expected to be heavy - East Bay will see no more than a quarter-inch. High elevation areas may see up to half an inch.
