Lakeshore Avenue cycle track project is back on schedule after City Council approves funding

Rebecca Kaplan stated in the CIP budget amendment report, "Investing in developing and revitalizing public facilities, infrastructure, and affordable housing throughout the city can significantly improve essential needs and services, including services in parts of the city that have historically been under-served."

Sheila McCracken expressed relief about the funding for the bike lanes project, saying, "We are all relieved to hear [the news about the funding] because it's been such an up-and-down process... we are all super grateful that money can be dedicated to the project."

Sheila McCracken highlighted the importance of the project, stating, "I've learned so much in the last 16 months about road safety... how important it is and how it gets so overlooked."
