Microsoft Bing Copilot blames reporter for crimes he covered
Briefly

Martin Bernklau described the trauma of being falsely labeled by Bing Copilot as a child molester and other serious crimes, expressing shock and disbelief at the AI's erroneous conclusions.
He recounted his experience of asking Bing Copilot about himself: "It now seems that my name has been completely blocked from Copilot. But things have been changing daily, even hourly, for three months."
After finding his name linked with crimes he had only reported on, Bernklau remarked, "It was too crazy, too unbelievable, but also too threatening."
Despite Microsoft's promises to remove the false content, Bernklau noted a lack of effective action, sharing that his lawyer sent a cease-and-desist demand but Microsoft had failed to adequately resolve the issue.
