Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds criticized the Conservative Party's stance against remote work, emphasizing that flexible working laws could enhance productivity and reduce regional inequality.
Mr Reynolds stated, 'We've had flexible working laws for quite some time in the UK. I think where people reach agreement with their employer ... it does contribute to productivity'.
He noted, 'The UK has very significant regional inequality. (Flexible working) could play a significant contribution to tackling that,' highlighting the potential benefits of flexible work arrangements.
Reflecting on the opposition to flexible working, he remarked on Jacob Rees-Mogg's declaration against remote work, calling it 'bizarre' considering the economic challenges at hand.
