Bojangles will expand to New York City
Briefly

Bojangles, the fried chicken chain, is planning to open 20 new locations in New York City and 35 in New Jersey. Originally established in NYC in 1982, the chain had a brief stint there before closing in 2007. Bojangles aims to simplify operations and enhance the customer experience with a new building prototype featuring a 'Biscuit Theatre.' Despite mixed results in past expansions, they continue to seek new markets, including a return to Tampa Bay.
In a statement, Bojangles outlined an expansion strategy intended to 'simplify operations, adapt to shifting consumer wants and enhance the guest experience,' including a prototype with a 'Biscuit Theatre' where customers can watch biscuits being made.
Bojangles first opened in New York City in October 1982 on 6th Avenue between 45th and 46th streets, featuring a jubilant opening day with a woman in a chicken suit and a live band.
