NASA has announced a partnership with Netflix to introduce NASA+ live programming on the streaming platform, which will include rocket launches, spacewalks, and Earth views from the ISS. This collaboration aims to share NASA's story of exploration widely, fulfilling its mission under the National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958. With Netflix's vast audience of over 700 million, the initiative is set to inspire new generations of viewers, starting this summer. Notably, NASA+ will continue to be accessible for free on its app and website for non-Netflix users.
"The National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958 calls on us to share our story of space exploration with the broadest possible audience," said Rebecca Sirmons, general manager of NASA+. "Together, we're committed to a Golden Age of Innovation and Exploration, inspiring new generations, right from the comfort of their couch or in the palm of their hand from their phone."
Netflix reaches a global audience of more than 700 million people, which will help NASA reach a larger audience. The programming starts this summer.
