"We aren't going to parties so much as we're catering them," says Lauren Schofield, a pastry chef in Brooklyn, explaining the busy holiday season for food industry workers.
"We gabbed the whole time and exchanged numbers," says Burns, recalling the day she met Schofield while apprenticing at the now-closed Flora Bar.
The last time everyone gathered was this past summer, at Burns and Ha's wedding where Schofield baked four different lattice-top fruit pies.
In addition to the meal's hosts, the gathering highlights a blend of friends from food, fashion, film, music, and art communities.
