Don't worry, gen Z! A billionaire boomer says your lives are going to be great | Arwa Mahdawi
Briefly

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon recently expressed optimism for Gen Z, suggesting they will have a prosperous future despite current societal challenges. In an interview, he highlighted potential longevity, advancements in AI, and an inheritable massive wealth, implying it all points toward a positive outlook. However, the author, a millennial, critiques Dimon’s perspective, arguing it reflects a disconnect from reality, as he is insulated by wealth and privilege, missing the core issues affecting the younger generation's feelings of despair and uncertainty.
But there are a few things that I do know that Dimon, for all his infinite wisdom, doesn't seem to have fully grasped.
When you are a billionaire with a collection of palatial homes, someone who crisscrosses the world in private jets fraternising with other members of the 1%, you can quickly become a teeny bit out of touch.
They shouldn't be bemoaning their situation. I am not a gen Z kid by any means, but I'm definitely depressed about the state of the world.
What will be a very bright and AI-enhanced future... They're going to inherit a country that's worth two [or] three hundred trillion dollars.
