China recently escalated its trade tensions with the U.S. by adding 28 American companies, including major defense contractors, to a new export control list, signaling its readiness to retaliate as Trump prepares to take office.
According to Andrew Gilholm, a China expert, the addition of these companies to the export control list appears largely symbolic, as many were already restricted, but reflects a significant expansion in the scope of sanctions.
