Broadcom's Hock Tan says public cloud gave IT PTSD
Briefly

Tan emphasized that, a decade ago, CEOs "fell in love with the promise of public cloud," pushing IT teams to adopt what has become a complex system. Users found public clouds to be costly and complicated, leading to compliance difficulties, and in his view, this left IT departments with a sort of post-traumatic stress disorder from the transition. He argues that the future rests with private cloud solutions for smoother operations.
Tan and VP Paul Turner highlighted that VMware must take some responsibility for the disarray in IT departments, admitting that their products weren't well-integrated. Tan mentioned that previous products created productivity confusion due to silos in compute, networking, and storage. He stated, "You want our products to work better and be more user friendly; you want them to actually work together," indicating a response to customer demands.
