Zaha Hadid Architects has introduced their design for the Cityzen Tower in Tbilisi, Georgia. This mid-sized skyscraper features a twisting form, creating outdoor terraces that offer functional social spaces. Set on a former Soviet military site, it comprises 42 floors with office spaces below and residential units above. The terraces are carefully designed to harmonize with natural elements like sunlight and wind. ZHA aims to complete the structure sustainably, minimizing its environmental impact through various eco-friendly strategies, while snugly fitting into Tbilisi's unique landscape.
Although constructing a large tower made of concrete, steel, and glass typically lacks sustainability, Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) plans to minimize the environmental impact of the Cityzen Tower by employing several eco-friendly strategies.
Informed by the rolling hills intersected with river valleys that wind through the undulating cityscape of Tbilisi, Cityzen Tower's design by Zaha Hadid Architects echoes its context at the intersection of the city's urbanism and its natural environments.
