Lake Buckley, a designer, transformed her small Fort Greene apartment by creating a bright, airy atmosphere in the living room and thoughtfully arranging each room.
Indecisiveness posed the greatest challenge for Lake, leading her to experiment extensively with layouts and decor before settling on the final design choices.
To achieve a modernist, beach-house ambiance, she replaced all lighting fixtures and added dimmers, making the space feel open and inviting.
In her design process, she often visualized elements using tape, fabric swatches, and printed artwork to ensure everything fit harmoniously in her compact living area.
