Anita Calderon expertly balanced the 1960s vintage charm of her kitchen with modern aesthetics through clever upcycling, transforming it into a vibrant art studio.
The walls were a cold light green with light yellow tiles...I want[ed] to bring it back to life without losing the essence of it. That was my main goal.
After removing the wall paneling, we [had] to take out remains of glue, sand, and plaster the surface...it was time-consuming, but necessary for my vision.
An affordable way to really change the style of a cabinet [or] furniture was to simply paint them with steel gray chalk paint and swap out the knobs.
