Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter has designed Steep Housing, a project of six timber cabins located in Åndalsnes, Norway. Known as the 'Mountaineering Capital of Norway,' Åndalsnes is celebrated for its breathtaking natural landscape and outdoor activities. Each cabin is constructed carefully on stilts to minimize environmental impact while providing stunning views of Romsdalen Valley. Measuring 80 square meters, these compact homes feature functional interiors with three bedrooms and modern amenities, promoting a harmonious blend of comfort and environmental consciousness in nature's awe-inspiring backdrop.
Steep Housing exhibits harmony with Norse traditions, ensuring each cabin showcases stunning valley views while embracing the steep terrain and maintaining minimum impact on nature.
