Jennifer Inacio, an associate curator at Pamm, emphasizes Miami's unique connection to Candomblé, noting, "we have a predominantly Latin American population… works dealing with West African diasporic spirituality are more familiar, or 'easier for audiences to grasp.'"
Inacio discusses the exhibition's focus: "Perhaps other shows have referenced these themes here and there, but none have focused on them. Still, it's not didactic. The works should speak for themselves. Not all are specifically talking about Candomblé, but rather looking at ancestral history and how that informs the present."
