'I'm encouraged by Marina Abramovic'-FKA twigs's performance piece takes over Sotheby's

FKA twigs is presenting a durational performance piece at Sotheby's titled The Eleven, featuring 11 movers reflecting on 11 wellbeing pillars, redefining cultural spaces.

At Sotheby’s, FKA twigs emphasizes the contrast between her art and traditional institutions, stating it’s an opportunity to create something subversive amidst classic masterpieces.

During a press briefing, FKA twigs expressed her intentions: "Culture has gone into screens or algorithms... I wanted to root myself again and develop a child-like sense of wonder."

Lisa Stevenson highlighted that the performance represents a gesamtwerk, a total work of art, showcasing a collaboration with photographer Jordan Hemingway to reflect the core moves of The Eleven.
