Foster + Partners has been selected to design the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's pavilion for Expo 2025 Osaka at the Yumeshima waterfront. The pavilion's design seeks to capture the essence of Saudi towns and cities while immersing visitors in a sensory experience through audio-visual elements. Using computational fluid dynamics to shape the structure, it aims to facilitate natural cooling. The pavilion includes a Saudi Courtyard for reflection and events, emphasizes sustainability with solar technologies and low-carbon materials, and targets Net Zero Operational Carbon.
The pavilion aims to evoke the essence of Saudi Arabian towns while using environmental strategies to provide a comfortable experience for visitors throughout the year.
Our design strategy focuses on utilizing scale, light, sound, and texture to engage all senses, highlighting Saudi Arabia's pioneering achievements.
The Saudi Courtyard serves as a multifunctional area promoting reflection during the day and vibrant activities at night, enhancing the visitor experience.
The pavilion is committed to sustainability, using solar technologies and low-carbon materials to achieve Net Zero Operational Carbon.
