C-O Lab has undertaken the Gremnos House project, which involves reconstructing a traditional cell from before 1955 and constructing a main residence and guesthouse on Serifos Island. Emphasizing the preservation of the natural landscape, especially the unique rock formations, the design integrates carefully placed structures and outdoor spaces that align with the terrain. The main residence consists of two stone volumes connected by a smaller plastered area. Material choices incorporate locally relevant aesthetics and sustainable practices, ensuring the buildings reflect their environmental context.
The design approach of C-O Lab emphasizes preserving natural rock formations, minimizing excavation impact on the terrain surrounding the Gremnos House project.
The outdoor spaces of Gremnos House maintain a strong relationship between built structures and the unique geological characteristics of Serifos Island.
