Utilizing a holistic design framework, Early Yuyen incorporates the 4Rs—Reduce, Reuse, Refurbish, and Recycle—ensuring that its materials support long-term reusability, enhancing environmental awareness.
The design of Early Yuyen emphasizes preserving existing materials over new production, negotiating aesthetics and preservation by retaining usable building components from its former use as a staff canteen.
With a focus on Design for Disassembly, the project aims to facilitate the future reuse of materials, guided by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation's circular economy principles, ensuring sustainability.
