Clam-shaped kinetic sound sculptures sing of the quality of water - Yanko Design
Briefly

We now have sophisticated equipment and software to monitor [water quality], but it might come as a surprise that Mother Nature has her own way of detecting abnormalities in water.
Taking inspiration from nature's filter feeders, this art installation transforms water quality into a tangible representation, creating an eerie melody that embodies the pain of the water.
The clams are connected to a sensor that tests water quality, and changes are translated into sounds that shift over time, creating an eerie musical display.
The shells are made from recycled waste plastic, adding to the sustainability message behind this innovative kinetic sculpture.
