This project builds upon our research conducted for the Dutch Government, offering a unique opportunity to translate theoretical insights into practical housing solutions for refugees.
The design focuses on creating a welcoming environment with a central courtyard, ensuring residents enjoy a sense of privacy while being connected to their neighbors.
Emphasizing sustainability, the homes are made from lightweight materials, are fully demountable, and the communal space is constructed from 80% reused materials.
Despite challenges, the project successfully transforms an industrial area into a livable community by prioritizing high-quality, flexible housing and community interaction.
