The Almaty Museum of Arts will open in summer 2025 as Central Asia's first private museum dedicated to modern and contemporary art, showcasing a collection of over 700 works.
Designed by Chapman Taylor, the museum features interlocking L-shaped structures that reflect Almaty's unique identity, combining elements of the urban environment and natural surroundings.
The museum will host pieces by Kazakh artists such as Aisha Galimbayeva and Rustam Khalfin, alongside international figures like Richard Serra and Bill Viola, promoting cultural exchange.
In addition to traditional exhibitions, the Almaty Museum of Arts will offer commissioned outdoor sculptures and experimental spaces, fostering visitor engagement with art in innovative ways.
