Bjarke Ingels Group is transforming a former supermarket into a Museum for Paper Art, enhancing cultural heritage and aiming to double visitor numbers.
The design will celebrate paper as both an art form and a craft, aiming to support educational and community engagement programs.
A new lightweight roof structure, reminiscent of a folded sheet of paper, symbolizes the connection between the old supermarket and the museum's new identity.
Inside, surfaces draped in timber will echo the materials of paper-making, providing warmth and connecting to the craft tradition of paper art.
