In the very beginning, my dressing room was my showroom and my customers were my fellow dancers. With each piece I sold, I reinvested my earnings in finer materials and stones.
For years, I would perform the matinee at Lincoln Center, scrub off my stage makeup, change my clothes and spend two hours at Barneys meeting clients. I would learn from their feedback and then head back to the theater for my evening performance.
