Briefly

The article introduces 'Ranch Water,' a cocktail crafted by Below Stone Nest in London, aimed at enhancing the traditional margarita. The manager, Josh Gaughan Cummings, explains the inspiration behind the drink, noting the high demand for chili margaritas at the bar. He highlights the recipe, which incorporates blanco tequila, mezcal for depth, fresh jalapeno for spice, and soda for a refreshing finish. The ranch water cocktail seeks to elevate the margarita experience, appealing to grown-up tastes with its unique flavor profile and presentation.
When we opened late last year, we got many requests for chilli margarita, which got us to thinking that we must be able to come up with something better.
And so the ranch water was born: a grown-up margarita with the added smoky depth of mezcal, and soda to keep things light and refreshing.
Dip the rim of a highball glass first in lime juice and then in Tajin, to coat. Pour in the tequila and mezcal.
Add the lime juice, a big handful of ice and the salt, then top with soda to taste and serve.
