Pita Inn, a beloved suburban restaurant known for its falafel and hummus, is set to open a new location in Portage Park, Chicago, by mid- to late-2026. The restaurant will occupy the former Sears Auto Center site, offering over 200 seats and hopes for an outdoor terrace. The decision to expand comes due to long-standing requests from fans for a city location. Pita Inn, founded by Jordanian immigrants Falah and Asma Tabahi, has delighted diverse diners for over four decades with their affordable and varied menu.
Our customers often claim that Pita Inn has the best falafel and hummus they've ever had. In fact, our hummus became so popular that we started selling it at Costco to share it with even more fans.
They’re unsure of the number of tables but hope to have room for more than 200.
Many fans have requested a Chicago location and this was just the right time for a location in the city proper.
Pita Inn has established a passionate following for quality and affordable kabobs, shawarma, and falafel.
