Vermont police sergeant charged with aggravated assault in shooting

On the night of July 3, 2023, Plemmons was called in for backup as a K-9 officer was investigating a suspicious vehicle occupied by Randy and Andy Perez-Coiscou.
Upon arriving at the scene, Plemmons confronted the vehicle and reportedly drew his weapon, threatening to shoot unless the occupants complied with instructions.
The investigation concluded that Sgt. Plemmons was not in imminent danger when he discharged his weapon, resulting in charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
