UK car market sees first million sales since pandemic, driven by hybrids over fully electric vehicles
Briefly

The UK car market reached over one million new car registrations in the first half of 2024, marking the first time since the pre-pandemic era in 2019. There was a notable increase in electric vehicle market share, although plug-in hybrids and petrol hybrids outsold fully electric cars.

He stressed the need for policies to boost the private consumer market and accelerate the shift to zero-emission vehicles.
