In July, General Motors reported record sales of the Chevrolet Equinox EV, moving over 8,500 units, making it the best-selling non-Tesla electric vehicle. The success places Equinox EV ahead of competitors like Ford's Mustang Mach-E. GM's total electric sales surpassed 19,000 in July, showcasing a substantial year-over-year increase. The Equinox EV contributes significantly to this growth, accounting for approximately 45% of sales. This model is praised for its value, priced at $35,000 with a notable range of 319 miles, making it highly competitive in the EV market.
The Chevrolet Equinox EV is on a tear. General Motors' entry-level electric vehicle was the best selling non-Tesla through the first half of 2025, stealing the title from crosstown rival Ford's Mustang Mach-E.
The automaker moved north of 8,500 Equinox EVs, marking the model's best month ever. More crucially, GM says that's the best month of sales for any non-Tesla EV ever.
GM says it sold more than 19,000 EVs in July, a 115% gain year-over-year. The Equinox EV made up some 45% of those sales.
Part of the Equinox's popularity comes down to its excellent value proposition. In base, front-wheel-drive form, it costs $35,000 and offers 319 miles of EPA-rated range.
