Tesla announced a recall of over 27,000 Cybertrucks due to delayed rear-view camera images, which could impair visibility and heighten crash risks. This marks the biggest recall among five issued for the 2024 Cybertruck models, emphasizing continuous issues despite the vehicle's recent launch.
The automaker noted that its affected Cybertruck systems may fail to complete a shutdown process before restarting, leading to delays in rear-view image display of up to six to eight seconds when shifting into reverse.
Despite the recalls, Tesla has not disclosed specific production or delivery numbers for the Cybertruck, leaving investors and the market anxious about the model's performance amid slowing EV demand.
Musk introduced the Cybertruck to reinvigorate the company’s aging vehicle lineup after it commenced deliveries in November 2023, which followed a two-year delay caused by challenges in production and battery supplies.
