Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe stated that when considering electric vehicles under $50,000, ‘we think Tesla has done an amazing job’ and highlighted the Model Y as the benchmark.
Scaringe noted there are 'less than five highly compelling choices' in the electric car market under $50,000 and deemed the Model Y as the leader in this space.
Despite Tesla's dominance, Scaringe suggests that Rivian aims to introduce more budget-friendly options soon, with future models like the R2 and R3 expected to start under $50,000.
At a recent event, Scaringe remarked on Tesla's strong market influence, saying, 'The world doesn't need another one of those,' showcasing both criticism and respect for the brand.
