Nicholas Fryers denied the attack but was found guilty by a jury at Maidstone Crown Court. Today, he was sentenced to life imprisonment, serving a minimum of 17 years and four months before parole eligibility.
Fryers had become obsessed with a colleague, leading to a violent attack in a car park with a screwdriver, injuring the victim severely until intervention from other men at the site.
Detective Inspector Ross Gurden described the incident as terrifying, highlighting Fryers' loss of control during the attack on the young woman in the car park.
