Hyundai's 2025 Ioniq 5 employs a Tesla-style North American Charging Standard (NACS) plug, making it the first non-Tesla vehicle to adopt this charging format.
The engineers are confident that while Ioniq 5 owners may not experience the same rapid charging at Tesla Superchargers, other DC fast chargers will perform as expected.
According to Hyundai spokesperson Miles Johnson, the division dedicated to charging in Ann Arbor is focused on ensuring the Ioniq 5 meets high charging standards.
The Ioniq 5 continues to stand out with its impressive capability to charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes using compatible DC fast chargers.
