Hyundai, Kia Pump The Brakes On Solid State Batteries Until 2030
Briefly

Solid state batteries are being developed as a revolutionary technology in electric vehicles (EVs), promising enhanced range and faster charging. However, major automakers, particularly Hyundai and Kia, have tempered industry expectations, suggesting that commercial availability is still years away, with a realistic timeline extending to 2030. Hyundai's Global Product Planning Chief emphasized the challenges in achieving production readiness, admitting that while the tech is exciting, credible advancements are necessary before widespread implementation can occur.
I don't think we can commercialize these batteries before 2030. Once our engineers believe that we have credible technologies that we can bring, then we might produce them on our own.
Solid state batteries have long been hyped up as the next big thing in EVs. The tech promises longer ranges, faster recharging, and potential for more power output.
