Tesla's recent Robotaxi rollout in Austin has quickly attracted scrutiny from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Following reports of erratic driving behavior—such as the vehicle drifting over double lines and inappropriate braking near police—NHTSA has reached out to Tesla for more information. Even though the agency hasn't initiated a formal investigation, it highlights the growing concerns regarding Tesla’s autonomous driving technology and reinforces its ongoing oversight of the company. This comes as Tesla faces several other probes by NHTSA, raising questions about the safety of its autonomous systems.
