Ford, Mazda issue do-not-drive warnings to car owners over deadly exploding air bag inflators
Briefly

The warning covers more than 374,000 Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles from 2004-2014, and nearly 83,000 Mazdas from 2003-2015 model years with potentially lethal Takata airbag inflators not yet replaced.
27 deaths in the U.S. and at least 35 worldwide are linked to Takata inflators, prompting the largest series of auto recalls. High temperatures and humidity can cause the ammonium nitrate in the inflators to deteriorate.
