Combustion cars emit 48 tons of CO2 over their lifetime, 40% more than EVs. However, EVs have a larger CO2 footprint during sourcing and production, emitting 11 tons initially compared to combustion cars.
EVs can offset their carbon footprint after 20-30,000 kilometers of driving, given they produce zero emissions while driving.
