Deadly crash closes northbound I-5 in Stockton, CHP says

The California Highway Patrol reported that northbound Interstate 5 traffic in Stockton was redirected onto Highway 4 due to a fatal pedestrian accident, requiring investigations and road closures.
Officers responded swiftly to the scene at approximately 3:54 a.m. as they navigated the complexities of a pedestrian fatality, managing traffic and ensuring safety for first responders.
While traffic was being diverted and the freeway closed for investigation, a separate incident occurred when a vehicle collided with a CHP patrol car; thankfully, no injuries were reported.
At present, no timeline is available for when the freeway will reopen; however, the public was urged to consider alternative routes to avoid delays.
