Crash leads to road closure near schools and Wembley Stadium
Briefly

A car crash today led to East Lane in Wembley being closed from Wembley Hill Road to Castleton Avenue, impacting the traffic near five primary schools and Wembley Stadium. The Metropolitan Police received a report just after 11am, confirming that although a vehicle was damaged, there were no injuries reported. The incident caused heavy traffic for approximately two hours, leading to significant delays for buses in the area, including the diversion of the 79, 204, 245, and 483 bus services.
The collision occurred in close proximity to several primary schools: Wembley Primary School, Buxlow Preparatory School, Bright Horizons nursery, The Little Learners nursery, and Tayyibun Madrasah. Fortunately, the timing of the incident—during school hours—meant that most children would have been in their classes, reducing the potential for chaos during school pick-up hours. While the crash did lead to significant traffic disruptions, there were no reports of injuries among road users or pedestrians.
